I think the USA is a great country and I love visiting there.
I think we (as in the british) tend to 'typecast' the american people and that is unfair. You cannot generalise on such a large scale, there is good and bad in every race, nationality & religion and all people should be taken on an individual basis. One thing I admire Americans for is their patriotism, something that seems to be lacking in Britain now.It would seem,in the U.K,that to be a patriot you must also be some sort of rascist, which isn't the case.
I must say however I don't rate thier president but nor do I rate our prime minister.

Difficult to streotype. But, a lot of the time you see Americans having a lot to say about nothing. They have the gift of the gab & their patter is sometimes horrible. I hate it when some wannabies in England devlope a fake American accent & strt the "talk to the hand" crap. But, you can't knock them, cos that's who they are. However I have noticed that Americans seem to think they are better than everyone else. But at the same time you do get a lot of Americans call everyone sir for example. I try not to stereotype, otherwise I would be calling decent people suicide bombers for example.

I love the place -
A wide diversity of culture.
Only problem that I've had was having an "English" accent.
Er, no, you have an American one.
Still love it though, and an Engishman giving it stick, in a pool hall / bar thing in upper NY state, and winning all the time is a thing to behold. Possibly as we play snooker.
Free drinks.& new freinds.
That is, without getting into silly political stuff, one of my memories of the USA
There are others, in a similar vein.
The lovelely cmper-van in Florida, the hospitalty in California, the bloke in Nevada that rescued me after falling off my motorbike.
The list could go on...

Hi to all. I am from America and I didn't know that we had problems with each other at all. My son was an All-star cheerleader in high school. He and his wife came to England their senior year in high school to participate in the parade there. They loved it there. They loved the accent, the food, the people, of course the night life. He went back several times to visit his aunt and uncle who were living there and travel to many diffrent countries with them to watch his cousin play soccer. We do have some silly habits here. The "talk to the hand" thing is a crock. We think some of the stuff you do doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's just a diffrence in cultures. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

I really don't mind you yanks (is that rude but you did call me a brit) but and a very BIG BUT would you ask your President not to lead our Prime Minister "Yo" (poodle) Blair, into any more scrapes in Iraq and Afganistan, and for goodness ask him not to mention Iran. Blair will do any thing Bush asks of him just to look macho. Perhaps your country can afford a few more global punch ups, ours can't.

Some Americans are ok i have met a few over in Mexico. We tend to tar them all with the same brush but there are good and bad in all races.
