They think Sesame street is too liberal. This show has made their focus to teach children to be tolerance and this means tolerance of gays so cons are afraid of their kids becoming homosexual.

PBS is Public Broadcasting System. PBS is always asking the public for money, on their telethon specials, and they get A LOT, why should taxpayers pay them twice? PBS is a liberal biased network, and should not be supported by the government, on top of PBS begging citizens for money, claiming "We need support to keep your favorite programs going (in other words, its a threat, and a lie, that they MIGHT have to stop showing Sesame Street, or their cooking shows, etc, if you dont give us a donation!) It's a falsehood. PBS is always going to be there, thanks to your tax deductable gift, of $50, and well send YOU a whole half gallon of Ben and Jerry's gourmet icecream, and this special thank you card! Ha! Ive seen it.

Well, there have to be cuts made, or else we could increase taxes, but wars are spendy (and this war was entered with the support of the Senate - even if it was based on faulty facts, which Bush didn't make up). I'm a strong supporter of PBS, they have great shows, and that's why I need to donate and support it. There are tough times, but those that really support it need to step up.

You're kidding, right? How about if Sesame Street donates all the billions of dollars it gets in book sales, toy sales, clothing sales, and anything else they sell with it's logo to PBS? Then it would be self-sustaining and it wouldn't need tax money OR those horrible pledge drives. "You are the 'U' in public television." AUGH!!!!

PS. "The only nonpartisan network" now I KNOW you are kidding. When I worked in the newsroom at the NPR affiliate in my area, I was the "token" Republican. In fact, I was the ONLY one in the entire building! "Nonpartisan my Elmo! Is that what you tell yourselves?

I am a republican and when I was a child I watched sesame street every day.
That being said, when I watch sesame street now I see a secular liberal agenda being pushed. There is so much PC that the cookie monster eats vegtables now and tells kids that cookies are a some times food. why would he need to do that, because todays parents are not raising their kids the TV is.

Why? With all the crap that Sesame Street sells in the Toys R Us stores, they need government funding? Let them pay their own bills!

What the heck, taxpayers can pay for everything...

1. Please post a link to your premise.

2. Do you or anyone you know watch PBS? I thought so. If it can't survive in the free market, there's no reason for my taxes to pay for it.

EDIT: I'm still waiting for the link that shows that Republicans are presently trying or have voted in the past to "slash" PBS to pay for Iraq. Tick-tock, tick-tock.

Why should tax money go to these programs? Once they became tools for the liberals they aren't serving the nation as a whole. They lost their value. I don't want my tax money to pay for a view that opposes my own.

They hate it because of all those big words - they're too much for them to comprehend. Have doubts? Look at their leader, Bush. If its more than two syllables, its too much for him.
