Better just listen to your Mom or you'll just end up grounded.

My mom got my ears pierced when I was a baby. I don't think she should make you wait until you're 16, it's just your ears. Try sitting her down and explaining to her that you think you should have a bit more freedom when it comes to what you wear and getting your ears pierced. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders just by the nice way you asked this question. Hopefully she will hear you out and give you more say so in your individual choices.

you're not alone! I know a few girls who weren't allowed to get their ears pierced until they were fifteen. I got mine done when I was 9 after years of persuasion. I finally managed to get around my parents by saying 'but all the girls and half the boys in my class have their ears pierced!' it was true but it made them laugh so much that they just let me get them done :D how old are you now? you should offer to pay out of your own money to get your ears pierced and make some kind of deal-like if you get As in all your school tests for a week and dont get in to trouble, this proves you're mature and responsible. I personally dont think ear piercing is a big deal-its virtually painless and if you use quality earrings there's a very low risk of infection and even if you get infected its easy to treat and clears up within days. maybe you could get yours done as a birthday or christmas treat. show your mom this question you've posted and she might realise how eager you are and how much you really want it. hope this helps :D

I didn't get my ears pierced until I was 19, and I did it at a cheap place where I got a terrible infection and had to let them grow back. My parents didn't let me pierce my ears at all when I lived under their roof (or wear jewelry). My parents were very concerned with the way I dressed.
I think your mom is just looking out for you, like mom's do. I make jewelery for a hobby and you can get some nice looking clip-ons and accessories that fit your ears without piercing them.

You don't mention how old you are... That plays a big part in your parents taking responsibility for you and controlling your choices.
The ear piercing thing... it's probably cultural and also her fear of you not taking care of them properly. Why not find a way to show her how responsible you can be? In the mean time, try earings that you can clip-on. You can even have regular earrings turned into clip-on earrings. I speak from experience... I was too chicken to get my ears pierced for the longest time... didn't do it until I was 18, and 20 years later, I just had my second set of holes done.

Ur mom wants whats best for you, but she probably doesn't understand your needs and wants. You should talk to her and see. Sort certain things out. I got my ears pierced when i was 7.
If your mom thinks they're gonna hurt, tell her they don't. All i remember was the lady saying it's over. I was shocked. If your mom is scared you'll get an ear infection, tell her there are special medicine to cure it! Hope it all goes well.

Goodness, my mother took me to get my ears pierced when I was 8. I won't even say how long ago that was. My best friend took her daughter to get her ears pierced when she was less than two years old. I'll probably do the same for mine.
Piercings, clothing, tattoos don't make a person, nor should anyone judge someone by their those attributes. Its how you are raised, taught respect for others as well as yourself, kindness, fairness, integrity, etc., just to name a few principles we should all be practicing.
Word of advice...Get 14kt gold when you do get them pierced. Not plated!!!! This coming from someone who is allergic to nickle, the piercings will never heal if you are allergic and DO NOT use solid gold. I can't even wear surgical steel, which is supposed to be hypo allergenic...not if your allergic to nickle.

I know this one girl who is only allowed to wear dress/skirts, she's not allowed to wear makeup, and she can't have her ears pierced.
I never had that problem. I got regular ear piercings when I was 6 years old, and then I did my own left cartilage piercing, as soon as I save up the money for it I'm going to get 2nd piercing on my ear lobes..
Sorry you have that problem.

that is a very good question. I had my ears pierced when I was 3 years-old by my mom. My suggestion is tell her that you are responsible enough to handle the situation. I think the reason why your mom doesn't want you to have your ears pierced is possibly she doesn't want your ear to get infected or you can have a saleslady who pierces ears tell her the benefits of why it is safe.

Okay I'll tell ya a Mom's point of view okay?If you would just compromise with them, meet half way then it won't be hard to get along...Say your 12,(don't know so go with me on this) & she says 16..well try for 14 maybe she'll agree to that..If its a color or style she can't cope with in yer clothing, try a variation of what you want...Say you like crop tops showing belly, she doesn't..then try a shorter hemmed shirt that doesn't show a belly,& go for low rise pants with it allowing some skin but naturally..See where I am going with this?well, good luck!

Nope, I don't have a problem with none of that at my house though. I had my ears pierced ever since I wasa young, and my mother likes to buy clothes, but ot the inappropriate ones.
