i had this same problem, but with makeup
one day in 7th grade, i came downstairs for breakfast and my mom noticed immediatley that i had an intense amount of makeup on and told me to take it off.
i was mad, and i really wanted to wear makeup, so i came up with a plan
i slowly started to wear makeup.
first, i started with a little face poweder
then i used a LITTLE bit of mascara
then i used a little more
then i used a TINY bit of eyeliner
and you catch my drift
let her get used to the clothes you want to wear
bring them on very slowly, with one change at a time
good luck!

My uncle will not let his daughter get her ears pierced until she is 16 either. My aunt bought my cousin some really cool looking magnetic earrings for now. See if you mom will let you get some of those. And don't worry, almost everyone's mom has had a problem with what they wear at one time or another!

My mom is pretty strict but she let me get my ears pierced. I couldn't get a second hole til I was 18 and could sign permission for myself. My daughter has hers pierced and she's 9. You could ask her why you can't and respond in your defense to her reasons. I don't know why earpiercing would be a problem. Almost everyone I know had their ears pierced long before 16.

here are some ideas...
collect fashion pics from magazines to show her what the current styles are to show her what the "social norm" is...
take a poll at school of how old everyone was when they got their ears pierced and talk to your mom about the results...
assure your mom that you respect her rules, but ask her what things she truly values the most for you (that you do your chores, get good grades, etc.) or is your manner of dress more important....maybe if she sees that you are willing to obey the rules that are really important she will be willing to "give" a little on the other stuff

are you responsible and organized? maybe the only thing she is worrying about it your ear getting infected. tell you will swab and turn it every day - be sincere. ask her WHY she thinks you need to be that old. my parents would let me get my ears pierced any time because i do normal things - i wear nice, normal clothes (no skimpy stuff or anything). do you want multiple piercings? keep it down to two. if you're goth or something or like things like that she might think that you will want more than two. ask her! come up with reasons depending on what she says.

Well I am a mom of a 14 year old girl. I am carefull of the things she wears but she is actually harder on herself than I am. As for the piercings...I took her to get her nose pierced after her 8th grade graduation. I allow her to wear lipstick or lip gloss but she does not wear eye make up yet. Maybe next year. I think that the way that you carry yourself daily will help her make her decision, I know it helped me!

Just show her ways that you're mature enough to have you're ears pierced, etc. If you keep bringing it up and asking her, whine about it, or get an attitude she'll be less likely to let you do the things you want. So that's what you definately want to avoid. And she still may say that you have to be 16 to have them pierced. But sometimes you just have to accept your parents' rules and go on..even if they seem unfair. Hope it helps! :)
