Planning a wedding/honeymoon for the weekend in about 5 months. Something simple and not too pricy. But lots of fun would be nice !!!

Depending on your budget you can get nice package deals that include tour wedding ceremony.

I would stay on the strip many sites to see and if you are honeymooning there you will most likely spend a little more time in your room than most do. I like the Bellagio although it is expensive. Other places on the strip are Paris, Caesars, Aladdin (name will change to Planet Hollywood very soon) Monti Carlo, Monterey bay, MGM. I could go on. all are very nice and you can get the right deals if you search.

Try www.swavacations.com the best deals are Saturday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

If you plan on leaving for Vegas on a Friday expect to pay about $200 more per person for the flight and hotel.

For activities go to www.vegas.com and browse to see what you would like to do to plan your time.

Have fun and good luck
Glenn

Excalibur is in a great location and consistently has good prices. The rooms are decent but nothing special. The South Coast has really great rooms but it's location isn't as good - a fairly long drive to the start of the strip. It's rates have been consistently good over the last few months. At any given time, you can find some bargains for hotels - I'm staying at the Venetian in December for $119 a night when the rooms normally go for $249 or more on average. The only hotel that I've stayed at that I can't recommend is the Mirage. The room was lovely and we had a great view but it was horribly crowded the entire time and the room doors slammed. We could hear (with the air conditioner going) every last door on our hall slam. They need to do something about the doors as it is otherwise a great hotel.

I check travelocity regularly for hotel deals as they seem to have most of them. I have also signed up to receive special offers via email from my favorite hotels which is how I found the super low rate at the Venetian. Congrats on your wedding!

There are always good deals going on, you just need to keep looking. Personally the moderate price difference is worth it for staying on the strip. Especially on a honeymoon. You dont want it to be a big hastle every time you go out and try to find some fun.
We stayed at the Aladdin, and they gave us a great honeymoon room overlooking the strip. Was an amazing vacation all around :)
and congrats as well!

What are you looking for? On the strip? Downtown Fremont St? Inexpensive? Best strip hotels that might be more expensive: Caesars Palace, Paris, Venetian, Mandalay Bay Best off strip hotels: Palms, Rio Fremont: Golden Nugget (has an awesome new pool) Inexpensive: Imperial Palace (centrally located on the strip), Harrah's, Sahara You don't necessarily need a shuttle from the airport. There are tons of cabs and any hotel you stay at on strip will be no more than a $10 cab fare.

Vegas has gotten much more expensive over the last few years. They keep tearing down the cheaper places and building huge, ritzy resorts that I can't afford! But spend some time searching the websites below, starting with CheapoVegas. They'll give lots of up to date information, and you can decide whether you want to stay on the Strip or try Downtown or Off-Strip. My personal suggestions for moderate-to-low-priced hotels with some atmosphere: Luxor, Circus Circus, Imperial Palace, Four Queens, Fitzgeralds, Flamingo. Too tacky and/or rundown to consider: Sahara, Aladdin, Riviera, Casino Royale, Stratosphere.

Depending on your interests, I've always liked the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino and Paris Resort to be not too expensive and both on the upper level of quality.

Congrats and have fun!

I believe if you stay off of the strip they should be somewhat cheaper. I know the Hard Rock is off the strip but it is not cheap! We stayed at the Paris, but we had a package deal and I really shop for bargains and it was not bad. It was cheaper for us because we came in on a Sunday and left on Thursday which helped. Congratulations
