Are you near any vintage clothing stores? Try there. Camden Town is great for vintage stuff, if you're in the London area.
I got some genuine mink stoles off ebay.co.uk, so there's good, but try international sellers too. Sometimes that rare item is worth a little more postage!!

Loads of vintage clothing dealers online. Try the following:
http://www.davenportandco.com/20thru30.htm
http://www.radiodaysvintage.co.uk/
http://www.corsetsandcrinolines.com
I agree with other answers - Camden Market has great vintage ware, and Ebay usually has more than a few bargains.
Good luck hunting.

Try Portabello Market, W11 fridays/Saturdays. The Victoria & Albert Museum in london are currently exhibiting clothes from this era, might get some ideas on where to buy from them.

Dunno-but I reckon you'll find some 1970's Bay City Rollers gear in Walsall-as they all dress like that and must be getting it from somewhere xx
