i am looking for an MS Excel project to do at home which will allow me to use my excel & vba lnowledge?

There is a user asking how to get darts, pool and some other knock out sheets , get him out of his misery and do it for him then mail them to him, good practice for you and help for him, he only posted 10 mins ago

Well, then try to extend your VBA knowledge to Corel & AutoCad.
For example you can learn speciffic VBA funcitons for those programs.
Imagine a hardware device attached to your computer (through LPT, COM or even USB!) that can plot on a paper (using stepper motors and some other electronics; microcontrollers; etc.) whatever you draw using that programs.

If you want to put your fingers on some wires too, you should definitely do that.
