Sell it on Ebay with the restriction that you are not going to ship this, the buyer has to pick it up.
I've seen this done often on Ebay especially when someone is selling something heavy. It pretty much will limit where your bids will come from but you may find someone who wants it bad enough willing to drive a ways to get it.
My brother bought a car on ebay and flew 1/2 across the country to pick it up.

These are heavy bulky items that need to be sold locally like in a yard sale. However, in that type of setting, you will be lucky to get pennies on the dollar. My recommendation, find a local charity such as a boys club or Goodwill and donate the items. You will receive a receipt that you can claim against your taxes and that will provide a better return than the yard sale.

What sort of weightlifting set?
Where is the boxing bag attached to (does it attach to a ceiling, a pole, etc)?
We live in the KC area, and we may be interested.
Otherwise, I would try Craigslist or the Star.

Ebay. You might also try the local classified ads in the newspapers, or hangs ads on the bulletin boards in all the laundromats.
