It is not. Every keystroke that you make on their systems is their property. That includes personal accounts. It is also legal for them to listen in on their phone systems.

Most employers today will point this out to you on your first day and may even have you sign a "no reasonable expectation of privacy" statement.

No. If it's your employer's computer, they can do anything they want with their property. As a rule, NEVER use your employer's email address to send and receive personal email messages while at work. Use a web based email with a password only known to you to send and receive personal email messages. However, use your best judgement. Do not take up your employer's valuable time and money with personal email messages. Do them on your breaks and lunch hour.

I know someone who worked for a big corporation for 15 years who just got fired this year for sending and receiving personal emails using his corporate email address.

Play safe, be WISE. GOOD LUCK.

If they get your personal information from their computers, thats your fault. They have the right to monitor everything that goes on their buisness computers. For all they know you are looking at porno on the clock.

Yes, because your "personal" e-mail on a company PC as provided by your company is not your "personal" e-mail - it belongs to the company. So, it is legal for them to do that, and most companies commonly do so.

Did you log into your personal email at work? Whether it's legal or not, if a techno-geek gets that information, they WILL log into your account.
