Mendeleev, indeed, arranged the first Period Table by atomic mass. Interestingly (dazzle your teacher with this) Four months later Julius Lothar Meyer independently developed the first periodic table, arranging the elements by mass.
Today they are arranged by Atomic Number.
Get an "A".
