Who are you people to judge this woman's parental skills? I got a tattoo when I was 16 in memory of a family member that passed away and I turned out just fine. As far as the age thing I'm not sure since a friend of my family has done every one of mine but I would assume he could get one with your consent. I also cannot stress this enough; what ever you do make sure that you go to a reputable shop! It’s better to pay a little more to have it done right than have a botched tat for the rest of your life.

He can't get a tattoo if he's 16 even if he has your permission. No states allow people to get tattoos if they are under the age of 18.

How about you lock him in a room and force him to listen to the Saturday Night Fever album over and over all weekend.

The idea is to teach him that tastes change, and just as sure as disco came and went, so will the coolness of tattoos, or at least what you want permanently drawn on your flesh.

Now, can you imagine the horrible tattoos our generation would have if we'd have gotten them at 16? Think about it. Michael Jackson's big hit that year was about a rat named Ben.

So what state are you in? It's my; understanding that underage people can get tattoos with parental consent. Tattoo parlors abound everywhere. Try Missouri, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana or Mississippi.

I would just make him wait 2 more years. It never hurt anyone to not get a tatoo, and you don't want him doing something he thinks he'll like when he's young but ends up regretting

any kid can get a tattoo anywhere as long as they have parents permission. since you didn't say where you were from, I'd check the closest state to yours.

I don't know, but here in Illinois they just dropped the age from 21 to 18, wooo!!! I think he just needs parental consent.
