I am starting a job with very little expierience operating front end loader. They want me to fill a hopper all day. What do I need to know? I have many years ex of driving forklift.

Keep in mind you are dealing with controls for three axises.

When loading the bucket, as you plow into that which is to be moved, a combination of raising the "arms" the bucket is on, as well as the angle of the bucket itself, is increased into the move, better loading the bucket and keeping the contents in it until ready to empty into the hopper.

When running, keep the bucket lower to the ground to keep the center of gravity low. Raise the bucket when approaching the hopper. This will reduce the possibility of a roll over, if operating a wheeled tractor.

Your fork lift experience will be a benefit to you. With a little practice, you'll be wheeling around the yard in no time, and the fluid operation of the equipment will come along in due course.

its all in the motion of the loading and unloading, get a smooth rythem down and first and formost, safety.
