Distant past? Our political system has been around for over 200 years. Our democracy will continue forward regardless of who wins or does not win.
It feels great to be a neocon, considering neocons used to be democrats, and we realized how soft and futile the left has become. Conservatives, even libertarians make more sense than Democrats. The neo in neocon means that we still have ties to, for example social programs like the new prescription plan or no child left behind.
At this moment, CNN is showing the Republican lead in polling percentages.
Whomp.

1) Why are you just asking Neocons? There are many other groups in the Rep Party.
2) Losing control of 1 or both houses (& this is not certain) doesn't make us just part of the past. If (& I mean IF) we lose tomorrow, we'll be back.

I love it. You guys are spiking the ball and celebrating while still on the 10 yard line.
OK, let us assume that Democrats run the table and win the House and Senate back. What will happen. Bush will veto any tax hikes. If they try and pass any legislation concerning Iraq, that means they will finally have to take a stand on what to do with Iraq. I'm betting that will be none too popular. Right now, they've enjoyed the benefits of saying Bush has blown it, without saying how they'll fix it.
But even better, the Dems will start having witch hunt investigations. They won't be able to help themselves. On Iraq, war on terror, international surveillance, Bush, Cheney, etc. They'll try and impeach Bush. Again, they just won't be able to help themselves. This will so turn off the voters to the Dems that the GOP will be virtually guaranteed the White House and Congress in 2008.

How do you know this? What crystal ball are you using? Since Republicans stand for conservative, traditional values, which is what the majority of Americans believe, I highly doubt the party will become part of the distant past.

Well, who's going to lead the Demotwits?
Kerry?
The guy can't even keep his mouth shut.
He OBVIOUSLY has no idea how the Americans feel about the troops.
Even those who oppose the war support the troops.
Kerry not realising that is the biggest red flag yet raised in his political career.
he should retire and suck off Sugar Mama Heinz's teat a bit more, like a good gold digger...

Two neo-cons, Ken Adelman and Richard Perle have attacked the Bushites for their incompetence in defeating the anti-zionists. David, big lips Frum, is hanging in there with the Trotskyites and people, other than him, who want to send their children into conflict.

Seems to me even if we lose control of any of the houses of congress, we'll still be in power of the Judicial and Executive branches
