Tonight my basketball team is playing this one team that is undefeated and they have some of the best players in the league. There's this one girl that scored like 56 points in one game. Any tips on how my team can do well against this team? Even if we don't win, I still want to try my best. Thanks!

first off all you have to control the speed of the game and dont let her get a chance like stall or keep swing it when shes in i did that one game the score was 14 to 8 and it was all lay ups. when you have a good chance dont take it. Only take it if You know you can make it.

Well no one player should beat any team, ask Jordan if he was able to do it. He had teammates that made him shine, plus his own athleticism made him great also. But what I would suggest is that when she or her teammates shoot the ball there should be someone or at least 2 people boxing her out. Also, tell your coach that a 2-3 zone defense should work( tell someone to get in front of her and another person behind her so that it will be easy to box out and hard for her teammates to get her the ball), but if you guys play man, then tell whomever is guarding her to get in front of her and do not let her get the ball. Also tell whomever is guarding the girl who passes her the ball, to play tightly (and keep there hands in the passing lanes) so that it will be difficult to get her the ball.
Another thing I suggest is that when there is a loose ball, there should be someone diving on the ground for it. Your team has to play harder, more physical, and more loose than the other team. What do you have to lose, but the game.
It is the pride of stopping there main player and not being beat as badly that is what should motivate you and your teammates.
Play hard, GOD BLESS YOU and make sure you pray before, during and after the game. Ask GOD to bless you, your teammates and the other team. Also ask GOD to keep you all safe and breathing throughout.
GOOD LUCK

The best thing u can do is play your game. At the beginning of every game your set offense and defense must carry you since everyone is fresh and playing with energy. If that girl starts to heat up then your team should contain her meaning double or triple teams. If you do that your team will know if the rest of the team is for real. Then you guys will know what to do. Good luck!!!!!!!!! P.S. I played bball in middle school a couple of years ago.

On the defensive side may think about playing a box and one(basically a 2-2 zone with your best defensive player, playing their best scorer man on man.) Or you can play any type of zone if the opponents have a hard time shooting outside.

try to remember defense should come first. you'll probably have trouble keep up with them offensively, at least thats the way it sounds. so, if you can keep the game close towards the 3rd and 4th quarter, you just might to able to pull out that magic that could win the game.

oh, and most importantly teamwork, have to work as a team or they will find the weak spots and pick you girls apart.

I have faced similar things on a lesser level and the only chance we had was to harass the heck out of the top player, Have someone follow her around all night, and alternate people if u have to. Keep fresh legs out there at all times.

Seeing that it's too late to practice more, you can lie to your team. Yes lie. Sometimes, lying is good. You can say that you had a dream about winning. After the game, you can tell them the truth.
Or you can encourage your team. Pray. Maybe that really good girl might not make it to the game.
Besides, It's a game. Good Luck!

Play a box and one. Put your best defender on the girl and make sure everybody else guards the lane. Don't let them get layups. At the very least make them shoot to win.

practice your hardest. play hard defense. don't be scared to be fouled. play as if it was your life that you were playing for. don't think just play with your heart. do your best. that's what i do!! even if you lose at least you can't say you didn't try. tell your team to tighten up on therir defense. tell them do you want to beat this team? how bad? do you want a victory? do you want this? ask yourself that question. we played against the hardest team in the united states. and we tried our best. we played hardd defense. and we all asked ourselves that question. and we played our hardest. we never gave up and we beat them.
