We have to understand the nature of the problem before pedophilia can be "stopped," if that is at all possible. The problem is complicated because each pedophile is unique, and each pedophile has his or her own reasons for molesting children. As much as pedophilia can result in a violent crime, it is also a psychological problem that needs to be understood. I don't know if pedophilia can ever be eradicated, but it can certainly be drastically reduced by understanding the problem. This does not mean that we make excuses for the criminal acts of pedophiles, but they should be treated with psychotherapy and medications. Should offenders be jailed with severe penalties? Yes, they should be locked away, but they should also receive some kind of treament; otherwise, they will only be released to become repeat offenders.

The media has portrayed the "ideal" of female beauty for years as being a prepubescent looking female. I feel that this is directly related to the growth of pedophilia. When there is a shift is interest to adult woman I think the situation will improve. In the mean time. We need to spend resources in finding and locking up active pedophiles. To much energy is being spend on computer crime - mush of which is thinly disguised censorship and to little energy is being placed on active pedophiles. We need more background checks on workers who have contact with children and more restrictions of single adult single child contact.

We need to educate children early on that it is not something to be ashmed of or feel it is their fault. If they are molested, tell!!! Then the perps will be arrested before they can harm other children. Of course, all children should be taught the usual about not approaching a man in a car, regardless of how enticing he might be, or a stranger or answering the door to someone unknown, etc. etc.

There is none as people will be people. Just like any other crime
The more laws we put on the books the more crime will exist, as anything only becomes a crime, when laws are passed against it.
No laws, no crimes.
The more people, the more 'unacceptable' or aberrant behavior.

Live in a dictatorship with absolutely no freedom also government aided brainwashing! People have too many rights and there are many sick beings out there.. honestly, that's like asking to stop the violence. Humans are humans. They will always commit error, always be flawed.

first you must rid the nation's epidemic of convenient "moral relativism"...which basically renforces the idea that there is no absolute.....meaning there is no actual right and wrong or good and bad. but that everything is just open to interpretation.
and the way you rid the nation and world of this is by bringing christ back into society.
some may not want to hear his...but i think it is essential
