We want to wait and tell my parents (husband's) that we are having a baby before anyone else. We dont want to just sit down and tell them, we want it to be a fun and clever way that will really surprise them. The ideas don't have to be originals, we just want something really cool. So tell us anything like that that you have ever heard of. Thanks alot!

We told them that my wife was feeling sick because she got the Egyptian Flu, and when they asked what that was we told them that it meant that she was going to be a Mummy.

The mummy one was really cute. I've heard of sending them little gifts through out the day (ex: small personal photo book, no doze pills, small figurines like baby bottle or rattle, overnight bag. Then having dinner with them and giving them the last big gift like shirts that say #1 Grandma/Grandpa on it.

A pair of baby shoes on a platter and covered with a lid. Offer the parents drinks and a little something (offering the covered dish) and watch their faces as the penny drops :) Congratulations!!

Well, if you can wait until you have some ultrasound pictures (assuming the dr. isn't one that waits until the 5th month to do it!), then you can frame one of them and give it to your parents. See how long it takes them to figure out what it is! An excellent place to go for ideas is iVillage ... check out their pregnancy & parenting message boards. Ask on one of the boards for ideas, and you'll get a ton of good ones! By the way, CONGRATULATIONS!!
