Here's a thing for you to do in your spare time.
Make a list of all the sounds that you make when speaking English (call them phonemes). Then make a single symbol for each! Write words in your new alphabet. Share your new alphabet with your friends and pass secret messages.
I think there are about 50 phonemes. Look at the pronunciation guide at the bottom of dictionary pages to see if your list is missing any.

Imagine if you will, a world without Cs. Lets first try petting the Kat then having a kup of koffee as we read our daily paper about the Klinton kourt kase. Then, we go to work in our shevrolet selebrity to find ourselves akkused of missing yesterday's shief finansial offiser's speach on our fiskal health.I realize this doesn't answer the reason we need Cs but it helps in understanding the reason for having them in the first plase.

Well, since English came from Latin, obviously a bunch of words in Latin need the letter C, and when English was made, it carried over. I know how spanish is spoken, and K is practically never used, it's always C (like in "casa"). I assume Latin is the same way. : )

actually chat does sound like shat.the reason we need c is because f the various rules in english. if we did not have c we would have to replace it with k or s which would be in violation of certain grammer rules

OK, so use "s" in place of "c" and say "chit-chat" out loud so your boss can hear you.
