Personally I would have to pick Ohio State, it is like they breed good defenders. Which college would you pick?

I don't know about Volume but some really good defensive players come out of USC.

Polamalu, Seau, McGinest, Tatupu are some of the best names today.

You will have a very hard time getting in the NFL without playing in College. With no football experience, you will not have a good shot at just walking on. And if by some miracle you get selected, it would probably only be for a practice squad. aka tackling dummy. As for playing on Saturday. I go to church too, but if you wanna play in the big show, expect to be traveling Saturdays, and playing Sundays,.... just part of it bro.

Recently, i'd have to say Texas.

Nathan Vasher for Chicago
Michael Huff for Oakland
Cedric Griffin for Minnesota
Quentin Jammer for San Diego
Derrick Johnson for Kansas City
DD Lewis for Seattle

all these guys are starting in the NFL and have been recent graduates

I would have to agree with you OhioState is a defense factory for the NFL, always supplying great linebackers, linemen and secondary, off the top of my head ....Spielmen, Big Daddy Dan Wilkenson, Shawn Springs, Mike Vrabel, Mike Doss, Chris Gamble, AJ Hawk, Carpenter, Youboty, and thats just off the top of my head, OSU will continue to produce "great" defensive players for the NFL!!!!

I would say University of Miami has many of the first round draft picks each year, many of them on defense.
