i remember earlier this season (or last season , how ever you look at it) jerry remy during a red sox game was talking about how he saw sammy sosa at a resurant ( they were in tampa bay playing the d-rays) and sammy sosa was down to about 160 lbs. remy was saying he didnt even reconize him at first he was sooo small.
my point is look what happened to him when he stopped using. if he tries to play next year at 160 hes not going to make a single A team. sosa is a joke!

It is possible that a team would allow him to spring training as a non-roster invitee. If he does great, he gets a Frank Thomas type contract with lots of incentives. If not, he retires. I don't believe he has any star power anymore. After he threw Tejada under the bus on the steroid allegations, most players will treat him like he has leprosy.

Sammy Sosa still thinks he can play? Perhaps he found a new concoction of performance enhancers that he thinks will allow him to regain some of his former dominance.

he cant be anyworse than he was 5 or 10 years ago, he was the worst defensive player in mlb history, his batting average was subpar and if you take away his corked bat and steroids, then you got a pretty crappy 14 year old baseball player so i dont know why anyone would take him even as a DH, nor do i know why the cubs or orioles took him in the first place, other than his homerun record chasing season(s), his career has been a complete waste

He'll find a taker. He wants to reach 600 homeruns and then call it a career. I think he's missing something though.
Who in their right mind would vote him into the hall of fame after the Steroid scandal??

Perhaps, outside of a winter league Dominican team, I can't think of any team wanting to pay bucks to a disgraced, washed up has-been. Not to mention the fans shelling out $$ to see it.

I cant imagine any team wasting money on a washed up, steroid user like him. I'd be very surprised if anyone actually signed him.
I hear he's going to replace Magglio Ordonez in right field for Detroit.
Kidding.
