I do get offended, however, I'm sorry to say this, but the way you worded your question could be considered slightly homophobic also... "harrass you for what you are". I mean... personally for me it's a preference... i'm no different than you or anyone else. ... I'll put it another way... We're all the same. Some of us like apple juice, other like orange... we're all the same, but just have different preferences... I hope this makes sense... it's just how I percieved your question.

we are harrassed all of the time in different ways
i do not really mind
as we can turn most of it into a positive
we can teach people
why we are the same
and why we can all live together
being gay should not be saying your a victom
if you can work with people to help them better understand
they seem to see there fight is no longer worth fighting
as most people only hate /dislike us
because they do not undeerstand us

I personally am not offended as I just think "how sad, they've got nothing better to do with their time" I can see how people could be offended though.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however I feel that if that opinion could hurt or offend someone then they should keep their opinions to themselves. they wouldn't like it if they were harrased for being straight or being too thin or fat or the colour of their hair/skin.

I don't get offended, particularly, by name-calling and stuff, although you are right, and you'd think people would be able to find better targets for their hate and bigotry. I get frightened though sometimes, not by the violence, but by the IGNORANCE out there. Not just about gay matters, but everything - it drives me mad when people have such rock-solid opinions about things they know absolutely nothing about, and they have no intention of even attempting to educate themselves. It's as if they would rather just stick with their stupid second-hand assumptions and never worry about the fact that they're usually wrong.
Sorry, just getting that little rant off my chest!

I personally have not been harrassed to my face. However, when one comes on Y!A you see all sorts of harrassment here for being gay. It's disturbing.

Offended? No.

But like most adults I strengthen my resolve to out last the "stone throwers" whether in real life or in make believe world of the internet.

What we find here are mostly inarticulate, immature, and cowardly harassers. Mostly kids who really are clueless, and are acting out their fears of their own sexuality. A few crack pot adults and possibly mentally ill, who see their lives as out of control so they lash out. Some of them wrap them selves in religious dogma.

All of them are ineffective, and they realize it, which angers them even more so the lash out more.

They are to be pitied.

Offended? Naw, everyone sees them for what they are. Sad lonely creatures seeking attention and in the end having the exact opposite response they hope for.

Would it offend you if people harassed you for being straight? Or for being Christian? Of course it's offensive.

BTW...all Christians should have the same tolerant attitude that you do! ; )

Of course it does. But you don't have to take it lying down. I stand up to each and every one that does it to me in public.
