Have you tried anything by Matthew Reilly? All of his books are great, but I really like TEMPLE. James Rollins best book in my humble opinion is AMAZONIA. And if you read the first book in the series with Special Agent of the FBI Pendergast in RELIC by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child and followed through to the last book you would truly enjoy their works. However, if you like old stuff try H. Rider Haggard and H. Beam Piper.

The Hunger Games is an amazing post-apocalyptic/dystopian novel set in Panem, the former USA. This nation is ruled by The Capitol and surrounded by the 12 districts. In an effort to wield control over the Districts an annual competition called The Hunger Games is held, in which one girl and one boy from each District competes in a fight to the death, which is televised night and day during the competition. When 16 year old Katniss Everdeen's little sister is chosen for the games she steps forward to take her place; Katniss does this knowing that she is probably going to die.

Depending on how old you are you might want to try any of the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evonavich. They're about a woman who can't seem to keep any job except that of a bonds enforcer (or, as she likes to call it--bounty hunter). They include the heavy, once-prostitue Lula, the dark, dangerous but oh-so-gorgeous Ranger, and the Italian Joe Morelli. You can find them by their titles: One for the Money, Two for the Dough, Three to get Deadly, et cetera.

Hi there. I'm the author of a new medieval fantasy series that you might like. The title of the first episode is THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY. It's 445 pages of action, adventure, magic, mystery and mayhem. If you are a fan of Conan, LOTR or Harry Potter books, this is one you'll enjoy. A Hollywood producer said it was, "Like Braveheart meets Lord of the Rings." (See other comments & reviews below.)
Good luck, whatever you decide to read!
Jon F. Baxley (Author, Editor, Ghostwriter and Proofreader)
THE SCYTHIAN STONE (eBook only)
THE BLACKGLOOM BOUNTY (eBook and hard cover)
THE REGENTS OF RHUM (coming fall '07)
Major Media Reviews:
Publishers Weekly
STARRED Review. A fast pace, sly humor, amusing dialogue and a richly researched background lift Baxley's fantasy, the first of a new series set in medieval Britain. When Merlin's long-ago apprentice Kruzurk Makshare (aka the Boozer) receives a dreamlike visitation from the legendary mage, he learns he must destroy another former apprentice, the villainous Seed of Cerberus. To do so will require a visit to the demon-guarded Blackgloom Keep. Enter young Daynin McKinnon, who discovers a curious rune-covered headstone, which may be the fabled Blackgloom Bounty, and brings it to Kruz's attention. Kruz believes it will provide entry into the fortress, while Daynin hopes the sale of the stone will restore his family's fortunes. The colorful cast of good guys and ne'er-do-wells includes the Pictish ghost of Brude McAlpin liberated from his tomb, assorted pursuing Caledonians and a bemused Prior Bede, whose monastery serves as a hiding place for the Blackgloom Bounty. Suitable for fantasy enthusiasts of all ages.

Anything Stephen King if you like Horror. Or Kite Runner for a more historical 'you are who you choose to be' book. I also like Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I like the science-fiction novel, Shadowfall: Book One of the Godslayer Chronicles.
<3 good luck!
OHH! and The Client, like the 3rd person below me wrote. :D
