Could be an eye infection or a parasite that's behind the eye, like hole in the head disease. He might lose the eye if not treated properly... read the info on the medications at the fish store to figure out which one he needs, and take the carbon out of your filter before treating. It might be easier to move him to a quarantine tank to keep the medicine concentrated. Good luck!

if there is no way it has been attacked, it may be an infection/disease. One of my fish got it and it's eye just puffed up and kind of turned white. There are several different medicines at a local pets store or maybe even walmart. I believe it was called something like Melafix (sorry I don't have the bottle anymore). Good Luck! This website may help, it's for figuring out what is wrong with your fish's eye.

Your Rainbow has "POPEYE" you need to seperate it from the rest of the fishies Treat the tank once with the medicine you are going to get from the pet store. That is called preventative maintanence. then the Rainbow is gonna be in it's own tank getting a full 10 day treatment

Not much info, could be popeye. Caused by poor water conditions. Here's a link with symptoms of it, if it is popeye, be sure to do weekly water changes, and get a med that treats popeye.
