I've heard a lot of pros and cons about this download. After hearing all of the problems people have, I'm not sure whether or not I should do it.

My windows update notice keeps telling me I should. What's the experience you have had with it. I read somewhere that it does not have the Java Platform. Does it work?

Do not do it. It has a lot of security issues. Both colleges that I work for have banned it from being downloaded and suggested we not download it on our home computers. Try using Mozilla Firefox for internet. It gives you the convenience of using "tabs" like IE 7 without the security issues.

IE 7 is definately better in some features but it has serious problem with php and Active X. It would be better if you use the final version rather than the Beta release.

Don't download it - it will only cause problems. To stop the windows update go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4516A6F7-5D44-482B-9DBD-869B4A90159C&displaylang=en
and download the file (if you know how do use DOS) then you can stop the automatic download of IE7 only.
