Hi, I am seting up a new 10 gallon hextagon tank in my office, thats the tall diamond shape tank. I am planning to put fresh water fish in I'd like to hear an opion on what type of fish to put in , I have a regular 10 gallon tank at home with three bala shark fish, The pet shops call it tri color shark, and I think they need more of a long span to swim, I know it can use a bigger tank but I find them to be a strong fish and they last longer then any other fish I had in a 10 gallon tank.

I find it interesting that the stores call the tiger barbs semi aggresives , I found them to be aggresive even to there own kind. and the same gose for the kissing gauramees. I would like to hear opions on what type of fish dose well in a tall 10 gallon tank and how many fish would you put???

thank please email me at jackwalz@yahoo.com

Dwarf Gourami (1)
Betta (1)

Just so you know, your bala sharks are going to get really big (1 ft long) and other sharks need at least a 4 foot long tank to be happy. Tiger barbs need 20+ gallons and about 8 or more fish to spread out the aggression. Kissing gouramis get to be 12" long and need to be in a large tank.

Also, make sure you cycle the new tank before adding fish.

i think of you % it to run for a minimum of each week, and perchance 2. in case you % to place fish in quicker, you could try including some water from an latest tank, as long as there at the instant are not diseased fish interior the tank. there has been point out made which you will no longer save sharks in a small tank. Do you recommend sharks like the purple-tailed Shark, that's somewhat a variety of backside feeder, or do you recommend a actual shark? try keeping genuine tropicals in a small tank. they're exciting to maintain and the marvelous length. you could save a Ghost Fish, Eels, Flounder, or Knife fish in case you % something extra unique. Silver greenback fish additionally are exciting to maintain and are considered community fish. The others won't be perfect for the community tank, different than the small Flounder, which isn't too noticable interior the tank. Angel Fish additionally are relaxing and thrilling fish to maintain.

the rule of thumb is 1 inch of fish per gallon of water. but you have to allow for growth. gouramies are a nice school fish that run 2 inches. You can get 5 and your tank will be full.
