I 've watched both movies yesterday with some friends. They were funny, but still, there's a lot of emotion behind. Was wondering if a lot of ladies out there identify themselves to Bridget. How sinilar is your life to her's ?

I have to disagree with everyone. While I do not have two men fighting over me, and I do not jump out of planes, I can totally identify with Bridget! She is the externalization of everything I internalize! Seriously, have you never felt you just wanted to curl up in a ball due to embarassment? Have you never felt like things were just so horrible in your life that you felt that it would be your destiny to die alone and be eaten by dogs? But at the same time, have you ever felt that you simply did not care what people thought? Bridget's life is not supposed to mirror your own, but her experience, for me, is a spectrum of what it truly feels like to be a modern, single woman.

I believe that all women identify on some level or another with Bridget Jones, she brings to gether a lot of different things that women stand for, equal rights in the work place, boy vs girl stuff, jellyfish attackers, work/ family, all women's issues that the films and books look at.

I'd love to have a life like Bridget's!

Flat of your own in the middle of London, career in TV, two men fighting over you and friends who can whisk you off to Paris at a moment's notice - what's not to like?

The minute I start resembling Bridget Jones in any shape or form I'm gonna shoot myself. God, that woman is insipid.

It's nothing like hers, for which I am eternally thankful.
I may not be perfect but at least I can live my life without resorting to OCD calorie counting and drinking myself into a stupor. And without cheating.

it is a great film to watch. I guess there is a wee bit of her in all of us, but I wouldn't really identify with her usually. my life isn't that exciting.
