They probably like garage, RnB, jungle or hiphop music! 'Urban' music basically! Obviously crap music! Oh yeah you can't forget Goldie Lookin' Chain - I bet they're a chav's heroes!!

Firstly can i point out that the word 'chav' is incorrect, this word was originally (like 1000 years ago or so, but still used like this by many) a Geordie word for a mate, and is actually 'charva', but in recent times amongst younger folk it developed into a name for knackers, kappaheads, muppets, whatever you wann call them but still as charva (ask any Geordie). But then it was snapped away by some media monkey and put out incorrectly as 'chav', and everyone took it on, well its wrong, its charva so sort it out.
Charva music is yeah like the rest of them say techno / drum & bass / happy hardcore / Urban etc.. (maybe even Pop music oooh) But thats a huge generalisation, and plus there are immense amounts o sub-catorgories in these styles that can give each crew there own thing. I once knew a lad who dressed in full on 3 stripe nylon with cap 24/7 who listened to tracy chapman and played the accordian, so don't be quick to judge. And be yourself girl there aint time to be no stereotype...

usually one hand on genitials with other holding mic,
mentioning "wassup" when live on stage.
Female:
wearing the sub total of naf all- preferably showing belly and as much of legs as poss

hair either spirit level straight or gelled back curly hair

they tend to like club/house/techno music or music with a mc in the background mixed with fast techno music...iv got chavy friends so im persumming what most of them like. Also songs with the chinkmunk type of voice..
as for artists in specific..erm dj cammy..but i like dj cammy and im no chav.
