pentecostal churches is any christian church that preach the word of jesus christ in a glorified way. they mostly believe that for a person to be saved, he or she needs to have faith,be baptist and talk pray in tongues.
1. how they differ from other churches is that, they all pray at the same time, they pray for each other, the sick, the problems of the country or continent concerned. this may sound strange to some one who is new from other churches, but every thing that is done by the pentencostal church is in the bible. talking in tongues is taken from the book of mathews to timotheus, wherby people were praying and suddenly started talking a strange language. only the blessed and the believers can speak this language. as its a way of communication to the lord, and the devil does not know that language, thus will not prevent the prayer from not being answered.

2. how they contact their services is different from that of the ELCN CHURCH, ANGLICAN CHURCH,AND THE CATHORIC CHURCH, in a
way that each member of the church or a visitor come forward during the service and explain his or her trouble in front of all the audiences, it does not matter what the problems are, then the audience take it from there as like in the first paragraph.

further more the pentecostal churches believe in different prayers
1. worship prayers - which is assisted by a worship song before praying
2.praising prayer- which is assisted by the clapping and crying, or what ever you want to do, thus there is also a thanksgiving song before all those.
3. a forgiveness prayer- by which every one pour out their apologies to the lord in their own way.
4. the service is conducted 7 days a week. there is a day for only women who are single, and another for married women, a day for the sinners(those who want to accerpt jesus christ, a day for the youths, a day for those who want to have a privacy with the pastors, a day for married/unmarried men, a day of the full time church service.
5. women mostly have to cover their heads and wear long dresses or skirts, thus its said in the book of corintheas,
6. unlike other chuches, a person need to be fully dedicated to the lord, whereby there should be no fornication, no smoking, no drinkind alcohol, and each church member need to contribute service to the church(be it cleaning the church, arranging curtains or decorating the church, playing music, advising memebrs of the particular groups, translator, etc.as long as those duties are fulfilled evey time of the week by the chosen person.

in other churches, the pastor does all the praying and talking, unless by appointments where by a member need to preach.

lastly, pentencostal churches were there during the time of jesus christ, is only that people did not know that they were called as such, or did not yet name them.

take the book of john for instance, where by jesus went to heaven and left a message to his followers, he said that preach my message to all, baptist every one who want to follow me.the pentecostal churches are the followers , as they went from house to house preaching the word of christ and baptising people. they did not wait for people to look for them, as like the other churches.

in another book ( the songs of songs) there is a book that says, glorified to the lord, clap and praise to the lord, (the pentencostal churches followed this verse by clapping and jumping, cring when praying, unlike other chuches were by they pray very quietly even though they are happy or crying. they find it very strange when some one cry while praying.a person only crying when he or she finds it difficult to ask for forgiveness from GOD, and such is asking or pleading to jesus to open the door for his forgiveness.

the aim of the pentescostal chuches is to preach and make people understands the true version of the bible, as most people misunderstood the bible and its meaning. its only today that there is a name for that church, other wise we will still be a lost nation. i am not a pentecostal person my self but i used to attend their service, with the aim of learnign from them.

The pentecostal churches of today claim to be a revival of the gift of speaking and tounges starting in the late 18th century. They claim it is a gift of the Holy Ghost, along with other gifts.
Now, they get a little arsed when confronted with the idea that the Twirling Dervishes in the Middle East do the same whoop la, and speak in tounges.
From what I know they are often unlovely, self-righteous prigs who think their feces has nothing but a pleasant odor, and others don't measure up if they don't give up all earthly pursuits but preaching and F*king. But strait sex only! Unless they are like that that arseole from Colorado USA.

All I know is that they are a much more radical form of protestantism, they general believe in possessions, "talking in tongue," mystic healings, and overall magic that is supposedly in the bible. They claim to be taken over by the "holy spirit" by delving into fits of laughter during ceremonies which then begin to spread across the church as more and more people get "touched." All of the affects on these people that have been studied show no significant proof of anything more than playacting and placeobo effects. but if it is for an assignment then DO YOUR RESEARCH! get sources!!! I could be lying or making it all up, you don't know!

Well, you'd better not come there dressed "provocatively", i.e., skirt-down-to-the-floor, prepare to stay all day long, no make-up, you will be hungry and your stomach growling because the service is so long...

Yes, they try to convert people by shouting, stamping, banging the wall, getting all emotional etc. If god exists I'm sure he wouldn't like it.
