You can never lose with a cheese ball and crackers or maybe a cheese tray or a veggie tray. Last year I made a pumpkin dip that you dip your graham crackers in, it was a really good and different appetizer.

Word of caution: Be sure that whatever you bring, don't bring too much, just enough for everyone to have a small portion. Better to have them asking for more than filling up on your appetizers and not your Mil's dinner.

Veggie trays with ranch dip, chips & salsa, crackers with spinach dip.
All easy to do and they are just munchies for before dinner.

You need to ask your mother-in-law what is "traditional" appetizers for their Thanksgiving meal. She will probably say that anything is fine....but that is not the case. You need to follow their tradition...and bring something that is tradition in your family too.
Have fun!
