No, poltical canvassing is a legitimate way of promoting your candidate. Sorry you find democracy inconvenient.

Yes. If you've registered your number and you don't want "spam" phone calling, then nobody should be able to harass you by calling you.

Additional: Tying up your phone line does not fall under free speach.

I agree its annoying. You aren't getting any points from me by waking my sleeping baby and interrupting my dinner. Besides, your phone call won;t change my mind on who I'm going to vote for.

Yes, but because freedom of speech is such an important right, and political speech is protected by the first amendment, it won't ever happen.
