I have discovered that I am addicted to a few websites that eat up my time. can I block myself from them, or is there a program that will only allow me to surf for a certain amount of time, before it shuts down the browser on me?

you could add the address to your hosts file or in the restricted sites zone in IE properties

as for the timer thing youd need a seperate program to do that (quite easy to write i imagine)

So you realize you have a problem and you want to prevent yourself from accessing sites. Except I can't imagine you not circumventing any measures you implement because you're addicted. I'd say just grow up and stay off places you know you should stay off.

you have three choices here.

1. you can use the content advisor in internet explorer to block it.
2. make an appointment with a psychiatrist . :)
3. or you can try growing up. :)
