In the game Second Life, is there a way to hide your online status?

I am interested in being logged into the game, but not appearing as 'online' to the people in my Friends list. Is there a way to do this through the use of a script, object, or other method?

There is not. Many people have requested this feature, but there's no way to do it yet.
