Well, I'm certainly not gonna let Marko F have the last answer on this one. (Except that now he'll probably come back and edit his response and have the last word after all!! So be it.)

On the other hand, maybe I should have let him have the last word. For I must admit this is one question that I'd never thought of before.

But my answers often are the last ones. The reason is that my primary way of choosing Q's is to go to those that have been posted four days or longer, and have received few if any answers. When someone asks a good question, I think they serve at least a respectable answer. (And so many of my own Q's have received few, or no, responses. So I empathize very strongly.)

I suspect that not many people take that approach to finding Q's; hence, my answers often turn out to be the last ones. Of course, they also turn out never to be read -- maybe even by the Asker. (But then there's always Marko F, who somehow seems to read all the answers to all the questions.)

Now your sense of humor deserves at least a wry smile in the answers you get. Hmmm.

Maybe Last Answerers once heard Somebody somewhere say that the Last shall be first. . . .



and the first shall be

last.

Then again maybe they are marathon runners who are used to being the very last . . . lagging . . . runner in a race, the one whom everyone applauds desultorily for his/her perserverance.

In a restaurant I always try to sit with my back to the wall so I face (and can see) everyone else. I guess it's sort of the same thing here. OK "*" now's the time to shut this question down and choose a Best Answer. Now, right now, I said, darn it.

Wait! Don't hit that Choose as Best Answer banner yet. First tell me is ZoneAlarm's firewall better than the one I'm using with Norton Internet Security 2005? And if I use ZoneAlarm's firewall do I have to disable Norton's?

No, I be trying for first. If the question went up for vote, unfortunately some people just pick the 1st on the list and I'll get vote by default.

But that doesn't work anymore, because with the threshold process the asker can switch order of answers accordinly and respectively the way they want.

If I could choose I would surely try to answer last.
The wisest listen to all and then speak.
But with all the wiser than me around here, plus the time difference, I usually am not the one that answers last. But heeeyy!!! Who cares anyway!!
It's all in the name of fun.

That is not so for me.

I try to be first, but by the time I get around with the right answers from my cheat cheat notes I am always last to find the good questions.

Or am catching up on sleep and don't have time..

If it seems I am last, I am sorry but its all timing for me.....

I don`t always succeed but I try to be first. I think when people are voting some will choose the first answer and not bother to read the rest.

no, that would imply one was reading all the other answers in search for ideas or something different. i just answer when i do, and then, i admit it, i read the others. sometimes i have to kick myself, because once in a while another one will be just like mine and i've wasted my time. i let it stand anyway. i need to get to know that person who thinks like me, i might just gain some insight into myself!...lol
