Potassium is so reactive that it will combine with other elements. It is never found free in nature. It is extracted from minerals like carnallite, langbeinite, polyhalite and sylvite

In its' natural "elemental" state it is, indeed, a solid. In the real world it is seldom (really never) found in its' elemental state. It is too reactive, thus is found in compounds and needs to be separated. So the answer is solid unless you want to irritate your teacher with the real world stuff. Get an "A".
