I commute back and forth (straight highway miles) about 125 miles every day and need a reliable, accurate detector that will detect most all signals. Can someone tell me which ones work very well and possibly the price range that I'm looking at?

I bought a Valentine One about a year ago. They're a bit on the expensive side, but since I do a lot of highway traveling I really think this thing has saved me more than it's actual value. I've had my detector warn me of a speed trap up to a mile and a half in advance, and they pick up on just about every signal (except doppler I believe). They're simple and straightforward to use. They also have an upgrade service. If they change their detectors, you mail in your old one and they send you a new one in exchange for a minimal fee.

If you're looking for one on the cheaper side I've heard great things about Escort and Bell, but have never tried them out myself.

I have had several radar detectors and there is only one to consider, the Valentine One. It is expensive but well worth it, the other detectors on the market are just a waste of money.

Best answer to this question is "obey the speed limit"! Those things are only good if the highway is loaded with traffic and the radar vehicle is stationary! A moving patrol car with vascar is a lethal weapon to motorist! The cop doesn't shoot you until he see's you and then it's too late for you! Best friend is a NYS Trooper!

I use a Whistler. Check the links below though. BEL makes some really dependable ones too.
