Slice up the fruit using a serrated knife and dry the in an oven with a pilot light for about 5 days, molding them as they dry around a ball of aluminum foil. The result is a flower-like cup with green edges and a pretty pinkish center that can be used in floral arrangements or can stand on their own as floral-like pieces. Also, did you know the fresh fruit also known as Hedge Apples can be used around the house as a pest repellent? Internet articles on the subject claim this is mostly folklore but my grandmother used them to keep mice and silverfish out of her basement for years.
