Why don't the Democrats and the ACLU get it on illegal immigration?

They both don't care about the invasion of our country by illegals and are doing everything they can to HELP them keep coming over illegally. From fighting against passing the fence bill, to pushing for the amnesty (making illegals legal), and even fighting against a law to make English our national language.

I remember the day they passed that, there were the Democrats (most notably Sen. Barbara Boxer ( D - California), telling us "unnecessary" it is that we declare English to be the national language (before it's too late).

and then they are tacking on the little "requirements" they would make illegals fulfill to become citizens. .

one of which was that they'd have to learn English (yeah right!! And if they don't?? You gonna kick em out?. . of course not!! If you won't kick them out now, you sure won't if they refuse to learn English). . what hogwash!!

So how can you require they learn English if we don't even have a national language?.

How can you require people learn the language when you don't HAVE a language??

The ACLU (a huge part of the Democratic party) is even more idiotic than the average Democrat politician, especially on this issue!

They SUED the city of Escondido to try to stop them from enforcing the law forbidding anyone to rent to illegals in that town (or to hire them).

Why should the illegals be allowed to have 6 or 8 families living in a house (and so they are each paying almost nothing in rent), and can thus live on much lower wages than law-abiding citizens can, so they can undercut Americans' wages (and this is exactly what they have been doing).

On top of that, since they can't all be in the house at the same time during the day, you have all kinds of dangerous men hanging around in your neighborhoods just waiting for something to do, and many of them are child predators. .

and the Democrats and ACLU don't care about your or your neighborhood. .

Dixie, you don't have the same views as Barbara Boxer or Nancy Pelosi on illegal immigration (or Phil Angelides (running for gov here in CA), and your view is not even close to the views of all the Dems in the Cali legislature, all of whom are open-borders people, and many of whom were elected by illegal aliens to make California into Mexico.

I wish the Democratic leadership in Washington (people like Ted Kennedy and Barbara Boxer and Harry Reid) had your views on illegal immigration, but they don't. They are all open-borders people.

I am not SAYING we should spend the time deporting them all (only the ones we can catch), but we need to hit the employers of them HARD. THEN they will leave on their own, finding no jobs here. THAT is what we should do (that and hurry up and build that fence!)

The democrats and ACLU are against an American identity, pure and simple. This is why they have fought so hard in the courts, and in Congress to either change or do completely away with anything that defines and identifies us as The United States of America.

I have a strong feeling that tomorrow the republicans are going to take a big one on the chin. I am not, contrary to popular belief, nervous about this. Republicans will still control the White House, and ultimately, the final word. Democrats may get at least one of the Houses of Congress back, but will not get enough of a majority to be a threat to over ride a Presidential veto, or to over ride the republicans on any taxes, or anything else for that matter.
We will once again have a stale mate in Congress. A stale mate is not necessarily a bad thing, then not only will nothing get done, but nothing will be made a mess of either. All in all, we should all be happy.

I haven't any religion within the Democrats fixing unlawful immigration or some thing else most important. If they remedy a concern they free an predicament. They might instead speak approximately it and beat it to dying instead than remedy a concern. The present congress has performed not anything of outcome within the yr they've been in vigor. Most of us Dems do get it. Very few people are acutally FOR illegal immigration.

English as the official language does nothing to solve the immigration problem. It serves no useful purpose and it was a waste of time to debate/discuss it. If they had some backbone, they would have spent the time to find some REAL solutions to the problem. I'm not for amnesty but kicking them all out is not a solution either-- and Bush has endorsed a form of amnesty as well.

The fence does little to solve the problem. Its only 700 or so miles and the Repubs did not fully fund it. It was just another "show" by the folks in DC.

Illegals should get NO opportutinity to become citizens. Legal residence is different discussion.

I guess the part that you don't get is that the Repubs don't WANT to "get it" on illegal immigration because that would ruin their supply of never-ending slave-wage labor to run their businesses! We don't need any new laws to stop immigration, we just need the existing laws enforced! The fence is a muy grande JOKE - the Mexicans (and other nationals) who pick your produce, slaughter and cut your meat, wash dishes and cook your food at restaurants, unload your Walmart cargo, keep your lawn neat and clean your toilets will still keep coming over, no matter what, because they have no jobs back home! You will cry when you have to pay ten times the current price for all those things, and the fat cat Americans who exploit this labor force will crap in their pants when they have to pay "legals" as much as minimum wage plus benefits to keep the economy rolling.

So why the heck are you complaining about illegals? You have saved a boatload of money thanks to them - it's not like your taxes were raised to pay for the services they consume!
