if the pitch is water logged due to bad weather, the referee could decide whether to go ahead with the match or postpone it to a later date. even during winter season where more matches being postponed as the pitch is covered with snow.

Rain will interrupt a soccer game if the pitch becomes unplayable. Lightning will interrupt a game immediately for safety reasons.

no it dosen't, I've seen few delayed games and it was because there were giant water puddles all over the field and players could not kick the ball
