I used to have problems with the older versions of msn messenger but i got the 7.5 version and its quite good. It can be sometimes a problem if you have quite a problems loaded up plus your internet/broadband speed will have an effect. Hope you sort it out soon i know how frustrating it can be! I would download a new version and reboot x

It's likely to be other programs running in the background. Have you noticed that any other programs on you PC are slower than usual? If so, do a virus scan and also a spy-ware scan. Back up all your work first. Also it's worth defragging your hard drive (Clearing up empty space) - Click on start button and go to help in Windows XP, then type in defrag for more info.

This happens to me quite often, and i've yet to find a perfect solution that will work. The things I try mainly are leaving it for a little while, and trying it again. Otherwise, press ctrl+alt+del and close any background programs that arent necessary (except ones running from the system)
If that doesnt work, I'd try restarting the computer/

Is it just MSN that is slow or have you got the same problem with your browser?
Try killing the application with Ctrl-Alt-Del and re-opening it.
Have you got many other programs running at the same time that may be slowing it down?

its because you have too many background programs running,. ignore the person saying reinstall that wont help. best thing to do is upgrade your pc memory. they are cheap enough. either that or clean up your hard drive do a defrag. that will help. good luck!

You can try reinstalling the program. Also it will help if you buy a faster connection.
