Most sleeveless patterns are not that easily adapted to sleeves. The arm hole is cut different.... the shoulder seam doesn't go out over the arm enough.

If I was making a sleeved top from a sleeveless pattern, I would use the shoulder/arm hole pattern from a pattern showing the type of sleeve I wanted. It wouldn't require making the whole top by the pattern......just using the necessary seam at the arm opening transposed over the maternity top pattern.

If the jacket is unlined, open a seam so the section is as flat as you're able to get it. Mark the section for the patch until finally now putting the sleeve decrease than the presser foot of the gadget. If the jacket is roofed, hand sewing patches on the elbows may well be greater beneficial look after than fabric glue*. accessible stitch, you're able to desire to drag the liner far flung from the outer sleeve so which you will stitch in basic terms the patch and sleeve and not the liner. you're able to desire to apply Fabri-Tac* (craft shops in fabric crafts and craft glues and paints at Walmart) for various patches and it would additionally artwork for the elbows.
