You don't need to say thanks - The people that answer questions probably answer several a day, and don't expect any thanks, other than the 2 points they get. Choosing your favorite answer as a Best Answer gives extra points to that person, which basically says 'thank you' indirectly.
Although I wouldn't mind being sent a few bucks.... ;)

Both way it takes up lots of memories. Yahoo always confirms the answer with thanks, and says answer some more.

you just did :) also you can go back to your resolved question an d make a comment on it. a lot of people go back to questions they answered to see what answer was picked.

you could give them a thumbs up, or if theirs is the best obviously the best answer button helps...and i guess they can just kinda assume that your thankful they tried to help, its kind of understood?
