I have this friend who trys to make his friends think that we're more than just friends. So when he's talking to me on the phone around them he's saying stuff that would make one think that it's more than a friendship. Although i've confronted him about it he still continues to do it. what should i do?

maybe he loves you
maybe he is so insecure about himself he has to LIE about you and him...
ask him straight out..if he likes or LOVES you and see what he says..
if it was me..I would do it in front of his friends and then let him see what he is going to say..maybe have a friend or two with you so they can back your story up..

good luck

humm i have a friend who does the same thing. We are not together and never would be.

I wondered what this was all about and concluded for him he is just flirting with the idea and for me i tolerate it the pluses of the friendship far outweight the moderate annoyence

He is insecure in himself. He will out grow this in time. Enjoy the friendship.
