Polls are one of the biggest jokes out there. Personally I think they should be banned from TV 48 hours before an election until all the polling stations close across the country. We citizens have a nasty habit of wanting to be on the winning side. So if polls show that Joe Smoe has won 10 states so far those undecided folks can be swayed to vote that way. Whole thing strikes me as a group think tool.

Polls are pretty much useless now do to election fraud. There is plenty of proof out there proving that elections have been fraudulent in the past 6 yrs. As a matter of fact there is an excellent documentary called "Hacking Democracy" that is running on HBO right now. Check out your local listings and watch it -- its pretty bad.

I do think on occasion you'll come across a few voters who will vote one way in a poll then change their minds in the voting booth -- but I don't think its all that many that can actually skew a poll so much that you have no idea of who is ahead.

Election fraud plain and simple.

It is extremely difficult to take an accurate poll, and some organizations don't even try to make it accurate. You can only poll those who answer the telephone. That means that your pool of people will consist of those who do no screen their calls and who have time to answer a poll. There are some demographics that will rarely be represented in that pool.

Polls are something designed to provide a SWAG (scientific wild *** guess) to people who have given up on crystal balls to see what people want.

Those polls are really perpetuated on political parties who have no intention of doing what they say they want to do.

I don't worry about polls. And I don't knowingly vote for politicians who stick their finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing today.

Yes. Many polls are purely political. Fortunately, many people are getting smarter and realizing it and not letting stupid polls make important decisions for them.

You can make a poll say just about anything you want depending on how the questions are worded, and what questions you ask in what order.

When they were trying to get Clinton's poll numbers up, they first asked questions about his ethics and personality. THEN they asked how you thought he was doing in his job. Since the economy was good, and people had already expressed their concerns about his personal problems, they were more likely to give him a good job rating.

In 60 years I have never been consulted on a poll. I am not sure they even exist.
