Man, looking around Yahoo! people are always making derogatory comments towards the natural state. Man what is up with that. Why does everybody think that we are some hillbillies who sit on the porch of our cabin spitting "tobbacee" all day. Why does everyone associate us with being illerterate and dirty?

most people who say mean things about arkansas have never been there. I myself consider it one of the most beautiful states with the friendliest people

There are several states most of the rest of us from outside states consider to be that way, esp. in that area. [Missisisppi, Alabama, and yes Arkansas.] Partly from reputation, even though you produced a popular President, and partly from how the states seemed to drag its feet on things like civil rights, etc. in the past. Ironically, I am currently seriously considering moving there, and have not been wholly happy with prospect, though I admit to finding out it seems an okay place to be.

All states have rumors/stereotypes/reputations associated with them. Yours has the unfortunate chance of being in the South, and you mention illiterate and dirty, well, those are connotations that many hold for that region. Just as Michigan is crime-ridden with Detroit and Flint, or California is just surfers and pretty rich white kids with problems.

I don't. Eureka Springs is beautiful. Alot of successful individuals came out of Arkansas.

Because our state's name sounds funniest when you say it with a southern accent. Not to mention all the stoners. They give the rest of us a bad name that we can't seem to escape from.

Because when we see it, we want to say ARE - CAN - SASS, but we know we're supposed to say, for some odd reason, ARE - CAN - SAW. We despise your cruel linguistic torture and wish that a large comet the exact size of... and the exact SHAPE of Arkansas would land RIGHT ON ARKANSAS! HA!
