i want an ipod. can you only download stuff on it from the ipod website or can you also put your own music on it off your music files? i'd like to have an ipod but not if i can only strickly us their music. i would hate to have to purchase a song i like off their website to put on my ipod if i already have it on my computer in my music files.

you can put mp3s on it some video formats. not just the music from the itunes store but you can also put all the music you download illegaly on it as well as any CDs that you rip into your computer. If you're like me you don't even use the iTunes store you just use itunes to sync your ipod and use it to listen to music while on your computer.

well if you have other albums just burn them on yor computer and transfer the song into your ipod no problem with that - but if you want to purchase music online you can do that too. so you can input the music from your computer to the ipod

I had many (many) mp3's ... and the iTunes software pulled everything in just fine. You can still buy tunes off the iTunes interface ... but there's no reason why can't use your own music. I love my iPod ... it is my own personal radio station.

you can put anything that's on your computer to i tunes for free and then from i tunes to your i pod
