I have a problem with my Sony DVD Writer and DVD ROM?

When I bought my PC I had a Sony DVD Writer, DW-Q28A (master) and a Sony DVD ROM DDU1615 (slave).
My DVD Writer broke so I bought a new one, Sony DW-G120A. I set it to master, just like the broken one I removed was set.
When I started my PC (Windows XP Media Center Edition) the new drive got recognised but the DVD ROM which was working fine before and which I didn’t even touch is not recognised anymore. I checked for loose cables but that isnt the problem.

Any Ideas on what is causing this problem?

When your computer is about to come on click F2 or Delete (depends on the manufacturer) to get into the bios. Then check your hardware configuration to see if the second drive appears and is recognized correctly. If the slave does not appear or appears as anything but a slave then there is a connection or jumper problem. But, that's the best place to tell if something's wrong.

Check to make sure the second drive is not set to cable select, it should be set to slave if you're not going to let the system assign it for you.
