do i have to uninstall my 2005 version or have i bought the wrong product both 2005 and 2007 arenorton internet security i cannot get the right answer to my question from norton website mark

norton wont load on a system that has viruses and why are you throwing money away?http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1/ works better than norton

Usually Norton will uninstall the previous version from your PC.

I would recommend that you uninstall the 2005 version via the

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove utility

and then install the 2007 version as a fresh install.

It's too bad you didn't ask about Norton before you bought it. There are several FREE, really good antivirus programs out there now, that you don't need to spend big bucks on a resource hog like Norton or McAfee anymore.

remove the 2005 from add remove window then restart your computer then install the 2007 then restart your computer with internet connection to download viruses difinistions

2007 nortons will not work on 98 or ME...

First you must uninstall 2005 and your firewalls...then it will install...it's best to do this off-line.... You might have to open your control panel and change your security settings...Good luck.

I would try that, it sounds like a logical explanation to me. It might be that it's trying to update and cannot.
