If you are speaking physically, then we don't have any guarantees, but here is your best bet:

Do everything in your power to aquire wealth and health/longevity. Substantial life extension technology for human beings is theoretically right around the corner. I say "theoretically", because a million things could get in the way of the development of those technologies, but if technology is left uninhibited by economic, war, environmental, legislative, or other outside factors, substantial life extension and age reversal will occur within the next 50 years. This is virtually certain.

By substantial life extension, I mean extending human life spans by hundreds of years. If you can live long enough for these technologies to be developed, and have the cash to afford them, then you will have some probability of attaining physical immortality because you will then be in the position to live long enough to be around when they develop technologies that allow for immortality. These technologies will likely include things beyond mere biology, nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, cloning, mind transfers, etc, which will make it virtually impossible to die.

So basically, you need to live long enough to be around when substantial life extension technologies become available for purchase (and will need the money to afford them). If you get that far, then you have the chance to be around for when immortality technologies are developed. But of course, many things could get in the way of things going in the manner I've pictured here.

But fundamentally, the point is that we really have entered an age where immortality is at least theoretically possible and death not necessarily certain, so you just need to hold on until theory becomes reality. So, whatever it takes to do so, healthy diet, workout routine, diatary supplements, etc . . . and keep storing the cash so you can afford these technologies when they appear!

Cheers!

You can achieve something called Secular Immortality, which means that you can achieve something that lives on long after you die. Now, forever is a bit too strange and subjective of a concept for any serious philosopher to make a blanket statement about, but try creating a grand artistic masterpiece and you may very well achieve secular immortality.

On Earth, no one lives for ever. In Heaven, all those who make it there live for eternity. To get there, meditate and ask The Creator for guidence. You don't have to be religious to get there, just a good person. Hero's ( anyone who has done something to benefit mankind and are remembered ) live the longest on earth and for eternity in Heaven. They live through the memories of people and only die on earth when those memories are forgotten. There may have been some Hero's before the ice age but the memories of their good deed are gone so that makes them dead. An astorid may kill all man kind but many will live forever in Heaven.
I plan on living till I die.............................

If you are speaking of physically, that is an impossible feat. Unless you are speaking of the spirit and soul. Then that question lies within oneself, and is private knowledge.
But if you are speaking of notability like the authors that have survived for us in books, or the great artifacts from Egypt, Stonehenge, etc. then my suggestion is to do something for all humanity that will resignate in time to be of comfort to all in the future after your time of passing, Like the Mona Lisa, paint a beautiful picture and try your luck. but dont forget you will always live forever in the hearts that you touch in life, like your mom, dad, friends, etc., for however long their forever is, we are all subject to changes but your heart with love is forever.

T^he Blood Countess, Elizebeth Bathory thought, bathing in the blood of virgins, would make her forever youthfull.

I believe if you pass the knowledge and wisdom of your life throught the ages, then your memory will live forever, like plato, and socrates.

Eventually we all die, but our name can live on forever. Having a legacy will most diffinately make you live forever, in name.

Do good deeds that will stand as your mark on eternity. Jesus, Ghandi, Mohammed, Budda, Mother Theresa, etc. will live forever in our collective memories and hearts.

Impregnate as many women as possible (to spread your DNA).

Then write a book that tells of your existence.

Though the physical you will die, your memory and DNA will live on forever.
