resisting temptation=using your brain..gut feeling..that little inner voice that says "no that's bad..bad girl don't do that"

pretend you're fat and REALLY NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT...or else..i dunno you might get diabetes...

so you open your fridge and you see this delicious chocolate cake..

your mouth says YUMMIE...but your gut says "NO THAT'S BAD..YOU NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT"... so who do you listen to?

same thing with a husband vs a fling...what's more worth it? do you have kids? does your hubbie make more money?+do you depend on that money?

if so what would be more worthwhile? sleeping around and feeling good for the moment...or knowing you're secure and aren't going to be left out..all alone?

a fling is nice..sure but it might leave you broke, it can make you lose your kids or a home/roof.

think about it.

Even if the temptation was great and the guaranteed satisfaction greater, what happens then? Those physical feelings won’t last more than a few minutes, maybe an hour if you’re lucky, then you’re stuck with that feeling of dread, the knots in your stomach anxiety of knowing how sh???y that is to do to someone and the never ending wondering where and when you’ll be found out. And if, by some miracle, you never get caught by your mate, you will always know that deep down, you are a lying, cheating, deceitful human being who couldn’t be bothered to care about someone else’s feelings over their own. And that doesn’t go away, whether you stay with that someone or not, your true self has come out, shamed you, changing your own opinion of yourself and now you'll never change that and you will certainly never forget it.

At the first thought of doing something really bad, I take a walk down "the hallway of consequences". Door #1 - would it bother my conscience for doing it? Would it make me a better person in the future, or a person that nobody could trust. Would it ruin my good name? Door#2 - What would my friends think of my decision? Would I lose friends over it?...#3 - what would my family think of my decision? How would they react? etc etc....And the last door I think about is my standing with God and how my long-term future will be affected. This helps me, despite urges of the flesh I may have, to make a resolute decision that even though the candy looks tasty it's not good for me.

I have a good man, I'm not tempted even though I probably have plenty of opportunities. Why are you tempeted to cheat? What is missing in your relationship? Can you talk to your partner about it? Will having someone else part time get you what is missing?

I was in a position to cheat and I didn't the first thing that came to mind was "How would I feel if he did this to me"! Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!

my husband and i said if either of us were ever tempted to cheat, we'd have enough respect for eachother to just go ahead and get out of the marriage. cheating doesn't help, it only makes things worse.

Love conquers all. I promised my fidelity to my wife, Yahweh as my witness. It would be sad to betray them both. Would you like to be betrayed?
