would a 400w stereo(with 5 cd changer) with a subwoofer be to loud to have in an appartment i have now a 80w stereo (w/cd player) and it can be heard out side of the bilding on 15 and it can go to 45. should i get the 400w?

i am wanting to know because i have a blown speaker on my 80w and i don't want to pay $80 for the speakers with shipping.

No. Just don't cut it up as loud as it can go. You also might want to invest in a set of headphones. Your building probably has noise ordinances so you should check those before you buy your new stereo.

prob wouldn't get a chance to use it to it's full capability in an apartment, but if apartment living is only going to be temporary for you and you know you'll be moving into a house; why not?

It all depends on if you like your neighbors or not. You could always say that you need it to drown out the sound of their creaky bed.

More than likely your neighbors will call the police on you if you are playing it loudly. I would not suggest it in an apartment.

you can get it, just don't turn it up that loud. That's exremely rude, and I've had a neighbor like that.
