Why would anyone even care?

I realize their history I used to live in Racine, Wisconsin, where their headquarters are located. But when you go to buy a product, why would you care if a family company made it or not? Wouldn't price and quality be your concerns? Do you pickup a pair of jeans or a loaf of bread and think, "hmmm, was this made by a family company? If not, I won't buy it!"

All companies care about their product because if they didn't they wouldn't be in business very long. The only thing I can see about their being a family company is that it benefits their family and no one else.

The family own and control the company. The "family" connection denotes care and concern as to the quality of their products. Some people care and some people don't. Family owned companies are a rarity, most are not.

I think it's less about their family & more about the family of those they are speaking to. It's like they're saying, "we value your family as much as you do, so we're going to give you the very best." Personally I don't remember having experience w/ their products bcoz I don't check labels, but the commercial where the guy from the company says they won't release a product until it's proven to work & good enough for their own home is telling the consumer how much they're dedicated to them.
